Making progress and adding courthouse photos, but still more work to do on our website upgrade.

Thank you for your patience as we transition our website over to a new publishing system.  While the primary pages are working now, there are still some spacing and formatting issues to be resolved.  For example, some pages are recognizing paragraph breaks while others are not.  Outbound links and crosslinks which existed under the old site have not been added back in yet, and there are still resources published under the old site which have not migrated into the new publishing software.  Unless the old page has been replaced with an updated page on the new site, the page still displays under the old system – which creates a rather odd browsing experience.  We will be working on these issues over the next few days to make the site easier to navigate and so that it can provide greater resources to our visitors.

The random set of photos which were rotating across our pages have been removed, and we have replaced them with a series of Alabama courthouse photos.  The photos still rotate randomly across the pages, but instead of photos of coffee cups and joggers on the beach we now have courthouse pictures.  The photos that are posted on the site so far were obtained from photographers on Flickr who posted their courthouse photographs under a Creative Commons attribution license.  To find out more information about any of the photos or photographers whose work was used on this site, just click on the photo and you will go directly to that photo’s page on Flickr.

Some of the photographers whose work we used include: MGShelton (Melinda Shelton), alwright1 (Andrea Wright), Robert S. Donovan (Robert S. Donovan), Photo Denbow (Chris Denbow), LakeMartinVoice (John Coley), dbking (DB King) and NatalieMaynor (Natalie Maynor).  We are grateful that they chose to share their photos with the public under an attribution license, and we look forward to seeing more of their work in the future.

We will be adding additional photos to this site over the coming weeks, using photos by other photographers as well as some of our own courthouse photos.  Please visit our site again soon to check on our progress.

The Contact form on our new site does not have as many options as the one on our old system, so we expect to be upgrading that portion of the site soon.  However, the form does work, so you can use it to contact us by email.  Since it is functional, upgrading it with extra bills and whistles is a low priority right now.

Once the site updates are concluded, we will be undertaking a dramatic expansion of the legal resources offered on this site.  We will also be posting frequent blog posts about legal issues of concern to our readers.  Please visit our site again soon to check on our progress.

Alabama State Bar rules require the following: “No representation is made that the quality of legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of services provided by other lawyers.”
